Why choose online Chair Pilates classes with Rebecca?

  • Classes continue ‘whatever the weather’ - classes continue to run and are not affected by illness, bad weather or the number of attendees present

  • “If one resident joins in, even just for 10 minutes, then that is success” holding group physical activities in visible spaces could help to encourage non-active adults in your care homes to become active - not all of your clients will want to initially be involved with this class. However for those who may be reluctant, it provides the perfect opportunity for them to see others moving and reaping the benefits and follow suit!

  • No expectation or pressure - the beauty of a virtual class is that your residents can join in for as much (or as little) as they wish. They can go for loo breaks, stretch their legs or even be excused from the class without causing disruption!

  • Make it a part of your wellbeing approach, not just another ‘activity’

  • Weekly classes help to provide structure

  • My classes are personal even though they are online based, I hope this comes through on my video and the way I teach making movement accessible for all. Each week I will be able to see which care homes are joining and together we can be part of a positive change in care home activities whilst embracing technology

  • Gives regular access to a chair Pilates class for care homes in rural locations

  • DBS certified

How much will it cost my care home?

The payment plan is transparent and is a £100 rolling monthly subscription payable at the start of the month, averaging at only £20-25 per week. There is also the option to join on a bi-weekly basis if this works better for your residents

What will my care home need?

No other investment is needed from your care home other than having a chair per person and a screen to stream the live class! Depending on the number of attendees, staff will need to oversee residents

Participants will need a comfortable chair, preferably with a back and no arm rests with adequate spacing and cushions/blankets as needed

My background

  • I am qualified with Active IQ Level 3 Diploma in Instructing Pilates Matwork and YMCA Level 2 Award in Delivering Chair-Based Exercise to frail older adults. I also hold qualifications in Prenatal Pilates and Groovelates and have been practising Pilates since the age of 16 (I am now 30-something!)

Pilates is more than just the piece of paper and the number of practical/studying hours. I believe a teacher is someone who works closely with people because they truly care about a cause. I am aware there is an aging population who do not have regular access to a modified fitness class and therefore I have created online Pilates chair classes for care home residents.

“I believe that movement should be accessible to all and is my driving force for delivering seated pilates to UK care homes. Chair Pilates is for every body.”
